Morning tea for simulation enthusiasts
Simulation is a well-recognised method of helping health practitioners practice their clinical and resource management skills and SPANZA is looking to expand its simulation educational activities. Anyone who has an interest in simulation is invited to this morning tea to meet with other simulation enthusiasts in Conway 3 and discuss opportunities for SPANZA in this space.

Women’s Empowerment and Leadership initiative (AusNZWELI) Workshop

This workshop is designed specifically for potential AUS/NZ WELI protege and advisors, this introductory workshop will examine how to set meaningful goals, and the difference between mentoring, coaching and sponsorship, as well as introduce the GROW framework for participating in effective coaching conversations. This workshop is open to participants of any gender.

The CICO workshop is designed as a refresher to maintain the necessary skills to manage emergency front of neck access in critical airway emergencies.  The workshop will include an emphasis on current management strategies in children. The 90-minute program will involve hands on learning and the simulation of an airway emergency. Participants in the ANZCA and FPM CPD program may claim this workshop/course as a CICO emergency response activity in their CPD portfolio.

Offsite: Manawa Simulation Centre 
The Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) workshop is designed as a refresher to maintain the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively handle paediatric emergencies and resuscitation scenarios.
The workshop lasts for 90 minutes and employs scenario-based simulations as well as hands-on practice in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and intraosseous skills. 
The workshop is recognised by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program as a cardiac arrest emergency response activity.

The Plan A block initiative from RA-UK (Regional Anaesthesia – UK) aims to expand the use of regional anaesthesia to benefit the most patients possible by teaching and maintaining competency in a selection of high value blocks. This hands-on workshop will introduce or sharpen your skills on the Plan A blocks frequently used in children.
