Manchula Navaratnam

A/Prof Manchula Navaratnam is a UK trained anesthesiologist who completed her Anesthesia and Intensive care medicine training in the South East Scotland School of Anesthesia including a pediatric anesthesia fellowship at Westmead Children’s hospital. 
After working for nearly 2 years as a general pediatric anesthesiologist at Yorkhill Children’s Hospital Glasgow she ventured across the Atlantic in 2009 to gain more experience in pediatric cardiac anesthesia. She has been a part of the Stanford Anesthesia faculty ever since. Manchula is the clinical anesthesiology lead for pediatric cardiac transplant and ventricular assist devices at Stanford Children’s Hospital. Her clinical and academic interests mainly revolve around the peri-operative care of pediatric patients with heart failure, cardiac transplantation, ventricular assist devices and single ventricle circulations.
Manchula is a passionate educator and is the co-founder of the pediatric cardiac anesthesia learning (PCAL) network at Stanford which launched its first national bootcamp in September 2022. Manchula also serves on the board of directors of CCAS (Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society) as well as the CCAS research committee and is an associate editor for the journal Pediatric Anesthesia.

Debnath Chatterjee

Dr. Debnath Chatterjee is a pediatric anesthesiologist at Children’s Hospital Colorado and a Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. After completing medical school in India, he pursued an anesthesiology residency training at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, followed by a pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. 

Dr. Chatterjee has been practicing as a pediatric anesthesiologist since 2005. His areas of clinical interest include anesthesia for fetal interventions and button battery ingestions in children.

Dr. Chatterjee is the Editor-in-Chief of OpenAnesthesia, an online resource used by anesthesia trainees worldwide. He also serves as an Education Editor for the journal Pediatric Anesthesia. He is the currently the Chair-Elect of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and represents them at the National Button Battery Task Force.
