CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The Organising Committee is pleased to invite submissions of abstracts to be presented at the 2017 SPANZA Conference. Presentations may either be submitted as an oral presentation or a poster. Please read the submission guidelines before submitting your abstract/s using the 'CLICK HERE' button at the bottom of the screen. The information below outlines the format your abstract must be submitted in as well as details of the online submission process.

Deadline for submission of abstracts will be Monday 31st July.

SPANZA on behalf of the Society will be awarding a best paper and best poster prize.

Please note the following instructions when submitting abstracts:

Must not exceed 250 words.
Abstracts are to be submitted as text. You will need to either type the details into the text box provided or you can copy and paste the text from a word document. No table, graphs or pictures can be submitted.
All abstracts are peer-reviewed and ranked on the basis of scientific merit. The program committee will use these rankings to develop the final program.
Not all abstracts submitted will necessarily be accepted for presentation.
At the time of submitting your abstract, the data must not have been presented at any other meeting nor published as a proffered paper.
If the research presented was supported by a commercial organisation, a statement identifying this support must be submitted.
If the research involved human subjects, it must have been approved by your institutional review board or Human Ethics Committee and conform to International Standards of Human Care.
Do not include titles or degrees
Check spelling and grammar. Submitted material will be published in the Conference App – the abstract should, therefore, contain no errors.
Standard scientific abbreviations may be used – non-standard abbreviations should be included in parenthesis after the first use of the full word.
Present sufficient data to support conclusions – it is unsatisfactory to use statements such as “data will be presented” or “results will be discussed”.
Please note: The Organising Committee reserves the right to allocate papers as it sees fit.

TYPES OF PRESENTATION

Poster presentation

Poster presentations of original research, audit or case series are welcomed and will be displayed in the conference area for the duration of the meeting. All submitted abstracts will be considered for poster presentation. The presenting author will be allocated a lunchtime during which he/she should attend the poster and be available to field questions from delegates. Posters should be displayed on the poster boards before lunchtime on Friday 27 October. Board allocations will be sent to you before the meeting.

Oral presentation

Authors of these selected abstracts will be notified prior to the meeting and will be allocated a specific time for presentation during the Free Papers Session on Friday 27 October. Exact timing will be determined at the time of notification.

SUBMISSION DETAILS

Authors should submit abstracts online, as early as possible, but no later than Monday 31 July 2017.

You will receive an automatic acknowledgement of the receipt of your abstract and you will be notified by email by the start of September on the success of your submission and the required format. The Organising Committee reserves the right to contact authors, if required, to clarify the nature of intended presentations prior to making decisions regarding their acceptance.

CONDITIONS OF SUBMISSION

At least one author must be available to present the abstract at the Conference if accepted. All presenters must register to attend the conference and are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and registration expenses.
