CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE GRANTS AND AWARDS

The deadline for conference attendance grant applications will be strictly adhered to ensure a fair system is open to all members. All grants are assessed by an independent committee selected by ANZSPED Council.

ANZSPED CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE GRANT

Applications for ANZSPED ASM attendance grants are open to all financial ANZSPED members, who have been a member for at least 3 months at the time of application and who:
Are within 5 years of completing their FRACP (or equivalent) OR who are a registered nurse or allied health professional working with children and adolescents with diabetes or endocrine disorders.
Are either Australian or New Zealand citizens or who have been a resident in Australia or New Zealand for one or more years at the time of the ASM
Have submitted an abstract which has been accepted (to the ASM).

Grants are not open to those persons who are only attending the Fellows Meeting and it is required that recipients of a grant will register and attend for the full ASM. Salaried consultants are not eligible for a grant. Your head of department will be contacted to check your eligibility for the grant.

To apply for a grant, please indicate so during the online abstract submission process, and an ANZSPED representative will be in contact closer to the conference date to confirm if your request was approved and to advise of the value of the grant awarded.

An allotment of money is put aside each year for conference attendance grants. This is then shared amongst those who apply and fulfil the criteria. Therefore, there are no funds available for late applications. The ASM attendance grants are calculated based on the location of the ASM and distance of travel required to attend the meeting.  Costs taken into account are discounted economy airfares (if required), early bird registration and shared accommodation.  Grants are not designed to cover these costs in full, but to contribute to the cost of attendance.

You must indicate your application for the grant at the time of submitting your abstract. You must also declare any other requests for funding you have received or applied for.

DEADLINE: MONDAY 29 JULY 2024
