WELCOME TO BRISBANE

Sophisticated city galleries and rooftop bars, desolate subtropical beaches, cool-climate vineyards: the greater Brisbane region deals in Queensland's most gasp-inducing contrasts. Star of the show is Brisbane itself, a lush, sultry metropolis with a flourishing restaurant, bar and cultural scenes that attest to its coming of age. Lapping at the city's eastern fringe is Moreton Bay, home to low-lying sandy isles that beckon with their turquoise waves, sparkling forests and passing parade of whales, turtles and dolphins.

RIVERS, BEACHES & ISLANDS

Brisbane has it all - a city built by a river, beaches just a stones throw away from the CBD and Moreton Island accessible via day trip, what more could a city offer? The Great Barrier Reef is a day trip (or longer) from Brisbane. World class snorkelling and diving locations extend from the Gold Coast to the tip of Cape York including the Great Barrier Reef.

MARKETS & STREET FAIRS

Whether it's farm fresh produce or over-the-top decadent desserts, Brisbane has it all in terms of markets. Eat Street Northshore is a unique market built from over 180 shipping containers housing food vendors and entertainment. Occurring every weekend of the year, Eat Street creates a blazing coloured landmark full of lights and fun in Brisbane. It's a must attend market when in Brisbane!

FOODIE HEAVEN

Brisbane boasts a thriving food scene, from specialty coffee shops to boutique breweries and a slew of sophisticated restaurants to rival that of Sydney and Melbourne. Coffee Anthology (pictured left) serves delicious, eye catching food with choice coffee blends in an industrial chic cafe. A great spot for a morning breakfast before the conference!

ARTS AND CULTURE

Brisbane is a hotbed of cultural creative offerings, events and festivals. Everything from comedies and musicals to inspiring and engaging art exhibitions, to underground operatic performances in caves, Brisbane embraces arts and culture.
