The relaxed ride
For those who would like a more relaxed ride or are less proficient/speedy on a bike Brisbane has a series of beautiful bike paths stretching along the river which give you a glimpse of the river, suburbs and the city. The bike paths stretch out between citycat stops so it’s possible to ride one way and citycat back (bikes are allowed on the cats). At registration we will provide for those interested a map of a suggested route to take and the citycat stops which allow easy riding between. There are several options for bike hire including CityCycle Brisbane (www.citycycle.com.au), Bike Obsession (www.bikeobsession.com.au) and Riverlife (https://riverlife.com.au/).
The walk (hardcore or relaxed)
And for non-riders there are some lovely walks that can be done from HSW. Some picturesque destinations include Southbank via the Botanical Gardens or Kangaroo Point Cliffs, Roma St Parklands via the city, and New Farm Park. We will provide some suggested routes to walk at registration. October is a cooler month so walking should be ideal at any time of the day (sunrise is about 5am and sunset 6pm).
