Dr Rosalie Shaw has been practicing as a palliative care physician since 1981 when she established the first hospital based palliative care unit in Australia in Hollywood Hospital in Perth. In 1992 she was invited to Singapore to be Medical Director of the Hospice Care Association, a position she held until she was appointed as the inaugural Executive Director of Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network in 1999. Since her return to Australia in 2010 she has worked as a locum in most states of Australia and in New Zealand.
