A/Prof Jaklin Eliott

Associate Professor Jaklin Eliott (School of Public Health, University of Adelaide) is the Lead Chief Investigator for the Palliative Care Research Collaboration. This 5-year multi-methods, multi-site, multi-institutional research program is funded by the The Hospital Research Foundation Group—2021 State-wide Collaborative Palliative Care Research Program, providing $2.25 million to improve the access to and delivery of palliative care for South Australians facing the end of life. This program applies a public health lens to focus on communities who do not typically access palliative care, considering and collating experiences and perspectives across familial, community, clinical, and policy settings. Often focusing on issues of equity, Dr Eliott is particularly interested in the intersections of private, public health, and clinical ethics in healthcare. Over a 20-year career, she has led several transformative research projects and teams, publishing across multiple domains, including psychology, public health, palliative care, qualitative research, sociology, bioethics, and clinical ethics.
