ROSALIE SHAW ORATION

The Oration was established in 2016 at the Perth conference, as a way to honour an ANZSPM member who has inspired and made a significant contribution to Palliative Medicine; and to ensure that vision is shared and reflected upon, to keep our specialty thriving and flourishing. Rosalie herself delivered the first Oration that year, with the intent that this tradition and honour would continue at each conference going forward. 

The Oration will open the conference on the morning of Friday 2 September, after the Welcome from the Conference Convenors.

      2022 ORATION PRESENTER:

Clinical Associate Professor Jenny Hynson is Head of the Victorian Paediatric Palliative Care Program at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) and has 22 years’ experience as a specialist in paediatric palliative medicine. She has completed a PhD and contributed to a number of major international texts and journal articles in the field of children’s palliative care. She was also, until recently, a founding member of the team in the Children’s Bioethics Centre at the RCH. In 2021, Jenny was awarded the Royal Australasian College of Physicians Chapter of Palliative Medicine Award for Outstanding Contribution by a Fellow to the discipline of Palliative Medicine.
