CALL FOR ABSTRACTS ARE NOW OPEN! 

The organising committee are pleased to announce that Call for Abstracts to be presented at the 2021 International Conference on Shellfish Restoration is now open. 

The deadline to submit your abstract for consideration is 5PM AEDT THURSDAY 18TH MARCH 2021. 

IMPORTANT NOTE:  There will be NO extension to the abstract deadline and only a few new abstracts will be accepted due to the 2020 program rolling over. 

If you submitted an abstract to be presented in 2020, you would have received a email with instructions on how to update your abstract. If you have not received this email, please contact the ICSR Secretariat on the below details. 

SUBMISSION CATEGORIES

Abstract submissions are welcome for the following categories for presentation at ICSR 2021 in Nelson Bay:

  • Oral presentation: (5 – 10 minutes subject to the final allocation of the program committee): Standard format oral presentations given during plenary sessions. Emphasis on disseminating results from restoration projects, new research, industry collaborations, etc.;
  • Poster Presentation: Standard posters will be displayed throughout the duration of the conference. Note, presenters should be prepared to give a 2 min ‘marketing talk’ in the plenary sessions on why delegates should visit their poster;
  • Speed Talks: (5 minutes subject to final allocation of the program committee) Shorter format oral presentations during plenary sessions with emphasis on project and/or research updates, upcoming projects, new ideas, etc.;
  • Videos: (5 minutes maximum, to be played during break times). If you would like to show a video of your work or project, monitors showing these videos will be displayed at meal times and if time allows, these may also be shown during the plenary sessions.

FORMATTING YOUR ABSTRACT

Abstracts should follow the following structure:

  • - Paper Title 
  • - Presentation Type
  • - Full Author List
  • - List of Author affiliations
  • - Presenting Author Biography
  • - Abstract, without subheadings, should be in the following form: Aims, Methods, Results, Conclusion
  • - Conflicts of interest - any conflicts of interest need to be declared during the submission process. An abstract            is not to be used as advertising any specific product or service. 

Other helpful information is as follows:

  • - Overall word count, excluding titles and affiliations must not exceed 250 words
  • - Abstracts are to be submitted as text. You will need to either type the details into the text box provided or you            can copy and paste the text from a word document. 
  • - No table, graphs or pictures can be submitted
  • - Not all abstracts submitted will necessarily be accepted for presentation
  • - Check spelling and grammar. Submitted material will be published in the conference program booklet -                      the abstract should, therefore, contain no errors
