CALL FOR ABSTRACTS 

Abstracts are invited for submission for presentation at the 2018 Newcastle Anaesthesia Conference (the NAC), being held in Newcastle from the 28 - 29th September 2018. The deadline for submissions is midnight Monday 3rd September 2018.

At the time of submitting your abstract the data must not have already appeared in print (data may have been accepted for publication). If the research presented was supported by a commercial organisation, a statement identifying this support may be requested.  

Authors should indicate whether ethics approval was received or waived unless the work describes a quality improvement project or innovation.  In addition to research presentations, we encourage the submission of works in progress, descriptions of educational endeavours including evaluation reports, and work describing new ideas or concepts.

When submitting abstract, please select if you would like to be considered for a poster or oral (Scholar Role). Details about the Scholar Role session are below. Please read these thoroughly as there are certain stipulations around this session. 

Presenting authors must attend the meeting and pay the relevant registration fee. Once you submit your abstract, you will have the ability to go directly to the registration site.  

ABSTRACT DETAILS:

The title should be brief, but adequate to clearly identify the nature of the study and must be in UPPER CASE.

Abstracts will be BRIEF this year with only 150 words allowed to be submitted. All submitted abstracts should be a summary of the results/key outcomes of research. Judges will contact the presenting author of the abstract should they require any more information about the abstract.

Authors should also advise of 3 key references during the submission process.

SCHOLAR ROLE SESSION

For the first time, the NAC 2018 is offering a Scholar Role session within the program. This session will give trainee's a chance to present their research orally as part of the official program. Those who applied but were unsuccessful, will present their data as a poster at the conference.

There will be a prize awarded in this session to the best research presented by a trainee.
