MONA

Love it or hate it there is plenty to get you talking at the notorious MONA (Museum of Old and New Art). Renowned for hosting controversial and risqué exhibitions MONA is a must do whilst in Hobart.  The Museum is open from 10-6 Wednesday-Monday and is accessible by ferry or bus from the Brooke Street Ferry Terminal in central Hobart.
If the art and exhibitions leave you wanting the museum is also on the site of Moorilla winery focusing on a small, high quality output. So when you have finished in the museum head to the cellar door for a tasting or a Moo Brew if beer is more to your taste.

TASMANIAN MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY

Offering free guided tours at 1 and 2 pm daily and within a 2 minute walk from the Hotel Grand Chancellor on Davey Street the museum is open between 10 and 5 every day. There is plenty to see with the museum hosting both permanent and touring exhibitions some of which may incur an entrance fee.

LOUISA’S WALK

Louisa’s Walk -is Strolling Theatre taking you down into the World Heritage listed Cascades Female Factory.  Performances are at 2pm daily and last approx 2 hrs.
Her Story is a sister production to Louisa’s Walk; it takes place entirely around Yard One of the Female Factory and lasts for just forty five minutes. Her Story leaves from the Visitor Centre of the Cascades Female Factory Historic Site at 11am every morning.

HOBART REAL TENNIS CLUB

Real tennis is the “original” tennis from which the lawn version was derived. First played between 1200 and 1500 AD, the game is also known as Royal Tennis, Real Tennis, and (in the US) Court Tennis. About 40 courts are in use today, the majority being in Britain. Today, the game is played in just 4 countries – the UK, US, France, and Australia.
