KEYNOTE SPEAKER


Professor Paul Myles is Director of the Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at the Alfred Hospital and Monash University in Melbourne.  He is an NHMRC Practitioner Fellow, a member of the Research Committee of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, and Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Science.  Paul is an editor of the British Journal of Anaesthesia, an editorial consultant for The Lancet and an editorial board member of Anesthesiology and Anaesthesia and Intensive Care.  He has published more than 200 papers, and been awarded more than 22 NHMRC grants totalling more than $30 million.  The main focus of his research has been on patient quality of recovery, avoidance of postoperative complications, and large multicentre trials in anaesthesia.

Dr David Sturgess is a Clinical Researcher and Anaesthetist based at the Mater Health Services campus, South Brisbane.
Associate Professor Andrew Udy is an Intensive Care Clinician and Researcher at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne.
Dr Adrian Chin is a Brisbane Anaesthetist in private and public practice. 
Dr Robert Marr is a Staff Specialist in the Department of Anaesthesia at the John Hunter Hospital. He was formally a Consultant Obstetric Anaesthetist at The Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom.
Mrs Caroline Phelan is the Clinical Nurse Consultant for Pain Management with the Acute Pain Service at the John Hunter Hospital.
