HOW DO i ENTER?

There is a limit of 8 entries, and you will need to buy and In Person Festival ticket and entry to the pitch contest using the below link. 

Once you have purchased your Festival ticket and entry fee, you will need to prepare the following documents and email them to HNSA@willorganise.com.au with the subject line ‘First Pages Contest’. 

     - Cover sheet with your name and your History Unbound 2025 ticket number in a separate word.docx with the file identified by your name eg ‘janeausten.docx’)
     - First 500 words excerpt from your manuscript
     - Elevator pitch (50-words max)• Synopsis (200-word max)
     - The excerpt, pitch and synopsis to be placed in a word.docx with the file identified with the book’s title eg ‘title.docx’. Do not place your name on the excerpt.

Submissions without an In Person Festival Ticket and entry fee will not be considered.  

Deadline: 10 October at 5pm AEST*

WHAT CAN I WIN?

The prize consists of:

     - $250 prize money sponsored by TCW
     - Free associate membership of the Australian Society of Authors
for one year

Purchase of an ‘In-Person’ weekend conference or day ticket is a precondition to entering the contest. Online conference registrants are ineligible to enter.

*HNSA reserves the right to refund your money and allocate your place to the next person in the waiting list if the deadline is not met.

Cost: $25 - entry can be completed when purchasing an In Person festival ticket
