David's eclectic career has included studying medicine, serving as a deck officer on merchant ships, and working as a lawyer in Sydney and London. Nowadays he teaches English, writes, and makes cocktails. His first novel, The Midnight Watch, tells the true story of the ship that witnessed the Titanic's distress rockets but didn't go to the rescue.
This Kingdom of Dust, published in 2024, departs from true history by imagining what would have happened had humanity’s first moonwalkers – Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin – become trapped on the lunar surface during their famous mission of 1969.
