ALexandria BURNHAM

Alexandria (Ally) Burnham is an AWGIE award-winning screenwriter and novelist, best known for her feature film Unsound (Apple, 2020), which was nominated for best original feature at the 2020 AWGIE (Australian Writers Guild) awards. The film won best Australian feature at the 2020 Melbourne Queer Film Festival and best fiction feature film at the 2020 ATOM Awards.

Ally is the lead writer for Metropius (2021), a multi-media story told across comic books, board games, and animation, with her screenplay winning Most Outstanding Animation at the 2022 AWGIE Awards. Her debut historical fiction novel, Swallow, is slated for release November 2025.

If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and why?

No surprise really, but my answer would be the real William Swallow, whom my novel us based upon. We'd have nothing in common, but if some rum were involved, I'd wheedle from him his regrets, his proudest moments, and how he thinks he's be remembered.
