Glenelg is so easily accessible from Adelaide City and has much to offer when you arrive. Jump on a tram from Adelaide and in just 20 minutes you’ll be at Adelaide’s favourite city beach, Glenelg. Walk along the foreshore, grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants dotting Jetty Road and check out the boutique shops.

Cast a line off the jetty, sail around the bay at sunset or swim with wild dolphins before kicking your shoes off and pulling up a seat at a bar with your toes in the sand. Come summer, Glenelg is home to Australia’s only official bar on the beach, Moseley Beach Club; the perfect spot to sip cocktails on a balmy evening surrounded by white sand and lapping waves.

The Moseley

The Moseley Bar & Kitchen - giving people a reason to visit Glenelg. Adelaide Central Market

With over 70 traders under one roof, the Adelaide Central Market is one of the largest undercover fresh produce markets in the Southern Hemisphere, buzzing with life and colour all year round. Offering a huge range of fresh food including fruit & veg, meat & poultry, seafood, cheeses, bakery, along with some of Adelaide’s most popular cafes and eateries.

Adelaide Zoo

Adelaide Zoo, one of Adelaide’s most iconic attractions, is home to more than 2,500 animals and 250 species of exotic and native mammals, birds, reptiles and fish exhibited over eight hectares of magnificent botanic surroundings. It is the second oldest zoo in the nation and represents a significant part of South Australia’s heritage and social history.

The Beachouse

The Beachouse is an amusement centre right on the beach and is one of the best things to do in Glenelg. Have fun sliding down the waterslides, ride the dodgem cars and bumper boats, play mini golf and much more! There is no entry fee to The Beachouse, you pay as you go along.

Bay Discovery Centre

The Bay Discovery Centre describes itself as “a Social History Museum celebrating the cultural heritage of South Australia.” A small but fun and colourful museum with displays on everything from the first South Australian settlers to swimwear throughout the years, to the Glenelg tram and Magic Mountain.

Botanic Garden

In the heart of the city but another world away ... Take time out to explore the beauty and diversity of plants from across Australia and around the world. Spend an hour or spend the day among the 50 hectares of magnificently maintained gardens and stunning architecture.
