Louisa likes Pina Coladas and gettin’ caught in the rain. Determined to empty her brain of stories, she loves writing Paranormal Women's Fiction and other stories about kick-ass women doing whatever the hell they want to do. As a marketing and PR professional with over 15 years’ experience across both governmental and private sectors, she has extensive knowledge of brand management, event coordination, graphic design, and a passion for corporate communications. She lives in Mandurah, Western Australia, and drinks more coffee than is good for her. When she’s not writing or researching projects, Louisa enjoys spending time with her family, and Harriet The Great (Dane). Her hobbies include playing video games, watching copious amounts of tv, and various craft-related initiatives. She strongly believes that the truth is still out there.
Once upon a time (briefly) Rachael Johns was an English teacher, but then her dreams of becoming a novelist came true. Now she spends her days writing romance and women’s fiction in the Swan Valley (WA). Her book The Patterson Girls won the ABIA Award in 2016 for General Fiction and she has also won the RWAus RUBY Award twice. When she's not writing, you'll find Rachael reading, occasionally sewing, hanging with her adorable Sheepadoodle or listening to audiobooks while driving around or cleaning up after her three teenage boys. The only TV show she watches is FARMER WANTS A WIFE and every year she says she'll read more non-fiction but fails because there are too many good novels waiting to be devoured. Rachael has been a member of the Romance Writers of Australia since 2006 and believes she would not be where she is in her career today without them.
By day Jem specialises in Human Resources and Operations Management, and is passionate about building relationships and delivering customer service that is dedicated, constant and outstanding. By night, she writes Fantasy Romance, and believes every character should have ‘one great love.’ When it comes to stories, she writes to lose herself in new worlds and create the stories she is searching for on the bookshelves. Jem is passionate about her work with RWA, and is always eager to hear of ways she can better support the organisation.

In August 1991 an historic meeting of eight women took place in Sydney - a meeting that gave birth to the Romance Writers of Australia.
Although we began with only eight members, we now support over 700 members and our membership includes writers from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the United States and the United Kingdom. RWA has become internationally recognised and respected by both category and mainstream publishers of romance.
The core elements of our mission statement have remained the same since 1991, with a small change recently to show our commitment to supporting all of our members, from all walks of life: to promote excellence in romantic fiction, to help aspiring writers become published and published authors to maintain and establish their careers, to foster a safe, equitable, inclusive and diverse community, and to provide continuing support for romance writers – whatever their genre – within the romance publishing industry.
RWA is an incorporated association. To become a member and secure the member rates, please click here to apply for membership. Once your membership application has been completed, you will have access to the member rates.
