call for abstracts

ABSTRACT DEADLINE: MIDNIGHT AEST, MONDAY 31 JULY 2023 

IMPORTANT NOTE:  There will be NO extension to the abstract deadline.  This is in line with ANZSPED policy to strictly adhere to deadline dates.

Abstract submissions are welcome for the following areas:

  • Allied Health Abstract
  • Scientific Abstract
  • Emerging Investigator Abstract

Abstract submissions are welcome for the following categories:

  • Oral presentation* 
  • Oral or Poster* 
  • Emerging Investigators Oral Presentation*
  • Poster Presentation

*Not all abstracts for these categories will be accepted as oral presentations. The best abstracts will be selected for oral presentations and others as posters. 

Abstracts will not be accepted if: 

  • They have been published at the time of submission
  • They have been presented at another conference within 6 months prior of the date of the meeting

FORMATTING YOUR ABSTRACT

Abstracts should be formatted as follows: 

  • Paper Title 
  • Full Author List
  • List of Author affiliations and country 
  • The abstract, without subheadings, should be in the following form: Aims, Methods, Results, Conclusion. 
  • Overall word count, excluding titles and affiliations must not exceed 400 words. 
  • Descriptive text including tables can be added in as a supporting document alongside your abstract Cite references in numeric order in parentheses according to first mention in the text.
Please note, any conflicts of interest need to be declared during the submission process. An abstract is not to be used as advertising any specific product or service.

  • Please indicate if you would like to be considered for the poster prize
  • Please indicate if you would like to be considered for the free paper prize
  • Please indicate if you have any conflicts of interest Yes/No reply with yes being able to write in text to explain
  • Are you applying for a travel grant from ANZSPED to attend the meeting? 
  • Do you consent to your presentation being reproduced?

PRIZES

ANZSPED will be awarding a best poster prize (A$100) and a best free paper prize (A$200) at the conference. This will be determined by a committee and invited international speakers who will judge the posters during the poster viewing sessions and the Free Papers session as scheduled in the program. The prizes will be award in the closing ceremony.
