DR PETER FRYKHOLM

Dr Peter Frykholm is a paediatric anaesthetist at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, Uppsala University Hospital, Sweden. He has been head of the unit for paediatric anaesthesia unit and earlier the unit for ENT and Plastic Surgery. Presently he hold’s a part time senior research position, which is combined with clinical work at the paediatric unit. Uppsala is a small town but the University Hospital is a tertiary referral centre covering about 2 million people from mid - and northern Sweden. It is also a national centre for e.g. craniosynostosis surgery, endocrine oncology, burns and pelvic trauma. 

Peter’s key research interests are improving perioperative paediatric anaesthesia practice with special focus on perioperative fasting. He has also put some effort into airway management and vascular access, having co-authored national guidelines on these topics.

  

DR JENNIFER LEE

Dr Jennifer Lee is an Associate Professor and pediatric anesthesiologist in the Johns Hopkins Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care medicine, Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology. Her research is focused on improving neuroprotection after neonatal and pediatric hypoxic brain injury. She conducts translational research on cerebrovascular blood pressure autoregulation, the effects of hypothermia and rewarming, cell death mechanisms, proteostasis, and white matter injury in clinical and laboratory studies. Her research has been funded by the NIH and several foundations, including the American Heart Association, International Anesthesia Research Society, and the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research.
