Membership is open to all medical persons with an interest in poisons and toxicology or persons working within a posions centre or toxicology unit.
Registered medical and non medical specialist who work for a poison centre or toxicology unit * and who are residents of New Zealand and Australia who have an interest in poisons and toxicology and are current in their subscription. Ordinary members are eligible to vote and be elected to council.
Subscription fees will be set at different rates based on qualifications and income.
* Toxicology unit is defined as a unit that provides at least 1 consultant to the poison centre national on call roster
Medical and non medical practitioners who are not entitled to be ordinary members but have an interest in poisons and toxicology and are current in their subscription. Associate members are not eligible to vote or be elected to council.
Subscription fees will be set at different rates based on qualifications and income.
Poison Centres and other organisations, subject to council approval may join as Sustaining Members.
Sustaining membership is held by the organisation, who can send individual representatives to attend activities. Persons representing sustaining members will be eligible to attend and vote at general meetings but not be elected to council.
Subscription fees will be set per representation.
Individuals who have been recognised by the society, to have made an extraordinary contribution to toxicology and poisons network in Australasia. Honorary members are eligible to vote and be elected to council.
Ordinary and Associate Members who have fully retired from practice can continue as retired members by informing the Council in writing of their change in circumstance. They should be current in their subscription which will be offered at half the rate of their membership whilst fully employed. Retired ordinary members are eligible to vote. Retired associate members are not eligible to vote or be elected to council.
