GETTING TO THE ROYAL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
The meeting is being held in the Ella Latham Auditorium at the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Melbourne. The Hospital is located at 50 Flemington Road, Parkville.ARRIVING BY CAR
The Royal Children's Hospital is located on Flemington Road in Parkville, an inner suburb just north of the Melbourne CBD. The hospital is only minutes from the city centre, and a 20-30 minute drive from Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine).PARKING
Abundant car parking is available beneath the hospital in the underground car park. Access is via Entry 1, 2 or 4 on Flemington Road. To gain entry, take a ticket from the ticket box at the boom gate and the gate will open.Disabled Parking
Disabled parking bays are located on each level of the car park and you are required to display your disability parking permit at all times.Motorbike Parking
There are parking spaces for motorbikes on each level of the car park.PUBLIC TRANSPORT
There is a tram stop right outside the hospital and trams on routes 55 and 59 run through this stop. Although this tram stop is a "super stop", at this time low floor trams do not run on these routes. Trams running towards the city stop on the side closest to the hospital, whilst trams running away from the city stop on the opposite side. Trams on route 57 stop in Abbotsford Street which intersects with Flemington Road just west of the hospital.
Route 55: this tram travels from West Coburg through to Domain Interchange on St Kilda Road. It passes the Zoo and Royal Park and travels along William Street in the city, stopping at Flagstaff station on the way. Use this tram to travel to the Zoo and the State Netball & Hockey Centre.
Route 59: this tram travels from Airport West through Essendon and Moonee Ponds, past the hospital to Flinders Street station. It travels along Elizabeth Street in the city, stopping at the Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne Central, the Emporium and Bourke Street Mall on the way.
Route 57: this tram travels from West Maribyrnong through Ascot Vale, Flemington and North Melbourne to Flinders Street Station. It also travels along Elizabeth Street in the city. Use this tram to travel to the Centrelink office in Newmarket, Highpoint Shopping Centre in Maribyrnong, the Showgrounds and Flemington Racecourse.
Catch the following trams if you need to find your way to The Royal Children's Hospital from a train station in the central business district of Melbourne:
- From Southern Cross Station: walk along Collins or Bourke Street to William Street, then catch the route 55 tram.
- From Flinders Street Station: exit the station from the Elizabeth Street end of the platforms and catch a route 59 tram in Elizabeth Street. From Flagstaff Station: catch a route 55 tram in William Street.
- From Melbourne Central Station: catch a route 59 tram in Elizabeth Street.
- From Parliament Station: travel along Bourke Street to Elizabeth Street, then catch a route 59 tram.
- The closest railway stations to the RCH are Royal Park and Flemington Bridge on the Upfield line.
