CASE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Case Studies and Key Articles must be submitted by Monday 14 May through the online link on the application page. No extensions will be permitted.Case Study Format
- You must submit 3 case studies for consideration
- Your case studies need to be created in word and saved as 3 separate files
- All details must be written in English
- Each case study should be limited to 400 words (i.e. one paragraph summary)
- Submissions should be written in the following format with the 2 subheadings - Case (relevant history, examination, investigations) and issues to be discussed
- Up to 3 key articles should be submitted - any 3 paediatric endocrinology or diabetes paper/publication to be shared with other APEG members via the APEG website. The key articles do not have to pertain to the case study you are submitting.
Case Study Topics
- Hyperinsulinism/ hypoglycaemia
- Endocrine late effects of cancer survivors
- Obesity and Diabetes Mellitus other than type 1 Diabetes mellitus
- Secondary Endocrine disorders or syndromes
- Eg. Endocrine hypertension, Prader- Willi syndrome, Turner syndrome

Presentation Guidelines
The aim of the presentation is to highlight interesting education points for all attendees and it is not intended to be stressful, or competitive. We aim to have a relaxed meeting with lots of discussion, participation and fun whilst learning together.Each case will be allocated approximately 15minutes, made up of presentation and discussion time. To allow for adequate discussion all presentations will be strictly kept to time – please keep this in mind when preparing your presentation.
All presentations should include:
- A title slide
- Full case study information
- The initial slides should be dedicated to patient history, management, treatment etc
- The remaining slides should include a summary of your case, discussion points of learning areas, and details of your literature review.
Please keep your presentations anonymous by not including identifying information such as DOB, Hospital or identifying photos etc. It is each fellow’s responsibility to contain the correct consent from the patients. If you do not wish for your case to be filmed or recorded you need to advise the Secretariat prior to the meeting.
Please note, not all Fellows attending the Fellows School will present. You will be notified via email about the outcome of your application.
