THE NEWCASTLE MUSEUM

Located in the heart of Newcastle, the Newcastle Museum offers a captivating journey through the city's rich history and industrial heritage. Housed within the historic Honeysuckle Railway workshops, the museum features three major permanent exhibitions: A Newcastle Story, which explores the region's natural environment and community narratives; Fire and Earth, showcasing the area's coal mining and steel production legacy; and Supernova, an interactive science centre designed for hands-on learning. With free general admission, it's an engaging destination for visitors of all ages to discover Newcastle's past, present, and future.

NEWCASTLE MEMORIAL WALK

The Newcastle Memorial Walk is a stunning clifftop pathway that combines breathtaking coastal views with deep historical significance. Built to commemorate the ANZAC centenary and Newcastle’s steelmaking heritage, the 450-metre walkway features striking steel silhouettes of soldiers and the names of nearly 11,000 local men and women who served in World War I. Beginning at Strzelecki Lookout, the walk offers sweeping vistas of the Pacific Ocean and connects to the scenic Bathers Way coastal path—making it a must-visit spot for reflection, history, and unforgettable views.

NEWCASTLE OCEAN BATHS

The Newcastle Ocean Baths, established in 1922, are a cherished landmark along the city's coastline. Featuring a distinctive Art Deco pavilion, the baths offer both a 50-metre lap pool and a spacious recreational pool, catering to swimmers of all levels. Recent revitalization efforts have enhanced the facility's safety, water quality, and accessibility, ensuring it remains a vital part of Newcastle's community life. Open daily from 5:30 am, the baths provide a unique opportunity to swim in seawater pools while enjoying panoramic ocean views. With free entry and lifeguard services during designated hours, the Newcastle Ocean Baths continue to be a popular destination for both locals and visitors seeking a refreshing coastal experience.

VISIT THE HUNTER VALLEY

While you’re in Newcastle, why not take a short trip to the beautiful Hunter Valley. Renowned for its award-winning wineries, gourmet food, and picturesque countryside, the region offers a chance to unwind and explore. Enjoy a tasting at one of the many boutique cellar doors, dine at a vineyard restaurant, or wander through the stunning Hunter Valley Gardens. Whether you're a wine lover or simply looking to soak up the scenery, it’s well worth the visit.
