Sophie Hamley has worked as a bookseller, editor, writer, content producer and web producer. She was a literary agent at Cameron's Management from 2006 until 2014 and is a past President of the Australian Literary Agents’ Association. 

Since 2014  she has been a publisher at Hachette Australia, specialising in non-fiction, now also commissioning fiction.

Single title only (80k and upwards) or Category Length (45k-55k)

What sub-genres or genres are you not looking for?
Horror

Is there a genre or sub-genre you’re particularly keen to see?
All genres of romance (including YA) are fine.

What genre is your personal favourite?
I read more spice than not!

What is your major turn-off in a book?
An opening chapter that presumes the reader knows the character already.

What is likely to really knock your socks off besides an engaging voice and well-written book?
An author who is intent on connecting with readers.
