DR FRANCO MOSCUZZA

Dr Franco Moscuzza qualified from Guy’s Hospital Medical School in 1988 and after initially starting his training in General Medicine switched to Anesthesia and developed subspecialty interests in Pediatric and Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia. He was appointed as a Consultant to Guy St Thomas’ Hospitals Trust in 1998. He held a number of educational and administrative posts including College Tutor, Pediatric Life Support Course Director, Clinical Lead for Theatres and Chair of the Surgical Safety Committee before being appointed Director of Anesthetics and Theatres.

In 2007 he completed an MA in Medical Ethics & Law, founded and Chaired the hospital Clinical Ethics Committee and was subsequently appointed onto the Board of Trustees of the UK Central Ethics Network. He joined Sidra Medicine in 2017 as a Senior Attending in Pediatric Anesthesia and became Chair of the Anesthetic Department in July 2020. He has been the Chair of Sidra Medicine Clinical Ethics Committee since inception in 2017.

DR NADA SABOURDIN

Dr Nada Sabourdin is a pediatric anesthesiologist at the Children’s Hospital Armand Trousseau in Paris. She teaches at Sorbonne University of Medicine in Paris, and is a very experienced clinical researcher. Her main research topic is the monitoring of nociception in adults and children, but she is also involved in various areas of pediatric anesthesia clinical research. She is a Board member of the French Society of Pediatric Anesthesia (ADARPEF), and has been a member of the Executive Board of the European Society of Pediatric Anesthesia (ESPA) for six years. She has been an investigator for the multicentre European pediatric anesthesia studies APRICOT and NECTARINE. She is also involved in the French Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (SFAR). 

Nada Sabourdin is an associate editor of the journal Pediatric Anesthesia, and is an occasional peer reviewer for Anesthesiology, the British Journal of Anaesthesia, the European Journal of Anaesthesia and the Journal of Clinical Monitoring and Computing. As a clinician, her focus is on neonatal anesthesia, anesthesia for spine surgery, anesthesia for the multi-handicapped child and monitoring.
