CASE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Submissions for the 2021 APEG Fellows School are now open. Please click on the applications tab to apply once you have read all information on this website. 

The Organising Committee are currently discussing the option of a hybrid model. If you aren't sure if you will be able to travel to Victoria for the Fellows School, we still encourage you to submit an application as you me able to join virtually. 

CASE STUDIES & KEY ARTICLES

  • You must submit 3 case studies on 3 different topics for consideration. Please discuss cases with your consultant, to determine their suitability, before submission.    
  • All details must be written in English   
  • Each case study should be limited to 400 words (i.e. one paragraph summary)   
  • Submissions should be written in the following format with the 2 subheadings - Case (relevant history, examination, investigations) and issues to be discussed   
  • Up to 3 key articles should be submitted - these can be any 3 paediatric endocrinology or diabetes paper/publication that you have read in the last 12 months that you feel has had an impact on the way in which you think or practice. Alternatively an article that you just think is significant enough to warrant a mention and be shared with other APEG members. Key articles will go onto the APEG website and do not have to pertain to the case study you are submitting. 

CASE STUDY TOPICS

  • Metabolic Bone Disease including disorders of calcium and phosphata metabolism
  • Diabetes Mellitus - other than Type 1 Diabetes
  • Disorders of the Adrenal Gland 
  • Syndromes and other conditions with endocrine aspects of management. (Including, but not limited to, Prader Willi Syndrome, Turner Syndrome, autoimmune endocrinopathies, pheochromocytoma and MEN syndromes, endocrine aspects of anorexia nervosa, thalassaemia, cystic fibrosis, obesity, cancer, etc.)

  2. Click on the apply now button on this page   
  3. An online form will open and you need to follow the onscreen instructions

Please note, you will be required to upload your CV, approval letter from your Head of Department and key articles as well as your 3 cases during this process. Additionally you will be asked the number of previous APEG Fellow's Schools you have attended and to clarify your Paediatric Endocrine training level. If you have any troubles uploading documents during the application process, please email the documents to fellows@apeg.org.au

Please note, not all Fellows attending the Fellows School will present. You will be notified via email about the outcome of your application.
