ABOUT APEG

Objectives and Aims

The association is not for profit organisation whose purposes are:

  • To promote and maintain the highest standards of diagnosis and treatment of paediatric endocrine disorders
  • To promote among physicians and others the free exchange of knowledge with respect to paediatric endocrinology, and to encourage good fellowship among its members
  • To promote research related to paediatric endocrine disorders by individuals, hospitals, clinics, universities, and other institutions and organizations
  • To develop in association with interested bodies, educational methods designed to give those who have a child with an endocrine disorder a better understanding of the child’s condition
  • To disseminate accurate information about paediatric endocrine disorders
  • To speak and negotiate with outside organisations as the official body representing paediatric endocrinologists in Australia, and New Zealand
  • To raise distribute funds and to purchase or dispose of property in accordance with the above objectives of the Association

Membership

Any medical graduate, scientist or allied health professional in Australia or New Zealand with a substantial interest and involvement in paediatric endocrinology shall be eligible for membership.

Applicants for membership must be citizens of Australia or New Zealand or must have continually resided in Australia or New Zealand for one calendar year.

Applications for membership shall be supported by 2 financial members of the association who act as ‘nominators’.  All membership applications cannot be processed until the nominators confirm their support of application (the Secretariat will contact them directly).

Full membership shall be awarded to health care professionals who have the appropriate professional qualifications, and who can provide evidence substantiating a significant role in the care of children with endocrine disorders.
