Early Parenting Program Coordinator with South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Health District

Helen Rogers is a registered nurse and midwife with over 25 years clinical experience in Australia and the UK. Helen has also worked as a nurse/midwife with Médecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors without Borders) in South Sudan and Sri Lanka, and with the World Health Organization/Communicable Diseases Center in Sudan on the polio eradication campaign.

 Helen's current role as the Early Parenting Program Coordinator with South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Health District, is focused on addressing health outcomes and inequities in access for priority populations across the first 2000 days. In this role, Helen is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of the Cross Cultural Worker Service in Maternity and Child & Family Health Services model of care. This model, presented today, supports service navigation for women and families from migrant and refugee backgrounds on their pregnancy and early parenting journey, and is also the topic of Helen's PhD.
