GENERAL INFORMATION

The SPANZA Update Meeting will take place on Saturday the 14 March 2026 in Newcastle, New South Wales. This one-day course is ideal for occasional paediatric anaesthetists, as well as nursing and technical staff looking to enhance their knowledge of current paediatric anaesthetic practices. Optional workshops will be available on Sunday 15 March 2026, offering additional hands-on learning opportunities.The meeting will be delivered in a hybrid format, with both in-person and virtual registration options available. 

Please note that the virtual experience will be delivered via a simple Zoom setup, without cameras or live interaction. Online participants can submit questions via chat, which will be relayed by the session chair in the room.

Both registration types include access to the live sessions on the day and post-meeting recordings, so you won’t miss a thing—whether you join us in Newcastle or from your own space.

ABOUT SPANZA

The Society for Paediatric Anaesthesia in New Zealand and Australia is an incorporated society comprising Specialist Anaesthetists who by reason of their practice and experience are particularly interested in anaesthetising and caring for children.

SPANZA has the following goals:

• Be an advocate for appropriate standards of care and education in paediatric anaesthesia; pain management and perioperative care for children.
  
• Promote communication between and fellowship of members of the Society.
  
• Promote the interests of anaesthetists who care for children.
  
• Maintain links with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, the Australian Society of Anaesthetists and the New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists through the Anaesthesia Continuing Education Coordinating Committee.
  
• Foster liaison with similar paediatric anaesthesia organisations in other parts of the world.
