25th - 28th October 2023 | Christchurch, New Zealand
INVITATION TO ATTEND
The conference will be held in our brand new facility Te Pae on the banks of the Avon River in the city centre.
Our international invited speakers from North America along with Australian and NZ based speakers will provide an exciting program that will add to your knowledge, challenge your preconceptions and inspire you to optimise your provision of anaesthesia to children. The program has been carefully designed to cater for those working in tertiary paediatric centres as well as generalists who care for children. The engaging plenary sessions will be complemented by workshops on a variety of topics such as crisis management and perioperative anxiety that will fulfil CPD requirements.
Ōtautahi Christchurch is surrounded by the Southern Alps, the Canterbury Plains and the Pacific Ocean. The Port Hills trails, Christchurch Adventure Park and local surf beaches provide plenty of thrills for active travellers while the Waipara wine country and He Puna Taimoana hot pools, and the Riverside Market in the revitalised city centre provide a more relaxed experience. Whatever your interests Christchurch has something for you.
We look forward to seeing you in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre has been designed as Ōtautahi Christchurch’s ‘gathering place’. A key part of the regeneration of the city, the Government’s investment in Te Pae Christchurch is set to act as a catalyst – not only for the growth and development of the city, but as a way of building lasting social, cultural and economic connections between the region and the world.
The name, ‘Te Pae’ draws inspiration from several phrases in te reo Māori:
Te Pae Maunga – our mountain views. The source of our origin and central to our land and people, mountains are a key element on the southern landscape, just as Te Pae is a central point within our city.
Te Pae Whenua – the vast plains we inhabit. With our strong ties to mountains and the rivers and plains they create, it is only natural this influence can be found in the building’s design, where shapes and lines represent the contours of our Southern Alps and braided rivers of Canterbury.
Te Pae Tangata – a place to meet and converse. To talk, to be hosted, to share, entertain and inform… for Christchurch, Te Pae Christchurch is a gathering place.
